There are 4 resident Sandhill Cranes at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, though at times you'll see more than that. But more often than not you can count on seeing these elegants birds somewhere on site. I couldn't resist taking a few burst shots with hopes that some of them could be converted to animated GIFs - and was happy that I was able to do that. It's one thing to see these large birds in a still shot, but another to see them moving. I love the way this one just smoothly unfolded itself and sprung up from a curled "s".
