Snowy Owls on stumps

Proficient hunters, Snowies first gravitate to lemmings and voles, then forage for a number of others if they're not available, from rabbits to birds. John James Audobon recorded seeing a Snowy Owl fish at the edge of an ice hole, waiting for fish to appear. When they did, it caught them with its feet.
