Brown-Headed Cowbird

Brown-Headed Cowbirds are brood parasitic, or opportunistic birds. They lay their eggs in the nests of other passerines, or songbirds - though they aren't too picky with their choices, as they've been documented as laying eggs in nest of 220 different species - from hummingbirds, to raptors.

This one had a large swath of feathers taken from the back of its head, and from the time of year, I wonder if that may have been the result of a bird fighting it away from its nest.
