Seagulls were all over the rocks at the beach, and in the sky above. One moment they were on the ground, the next they were in the sky circling around, then dropping a mollusc they'd just picked up, to the rocks below. They'd dive down to investigate, and if their prize hadn't opened up, they'd pick it up and go at it again - otherwise, they'd dive in for their exposed treat.
