Lesser Yellowlegs

Looking out from the pier at Marine Peace Park in Salmon Arm, a Great Blue Heron stood tall. That's what drew my attention. But scanning further, and finally looking down, this well camouflaged shorebird appeared. It's actually so close in appearance to the Greater Yellowlegs, that seeing them together is the best bet for identification, but the Greater YL has a slightly upturned beak, and the Lesser doesn't. Here's a great comparison between the two.
