GalleryNATURECRITTERS Northern Red-legged Frog - B&W
prev next
Had Paul not seen this frog hop across the path we were on, I would not have seen it at all. He called me back from ahead of him on the trail and practically put his finger within inches of it for me to see it amongst the foliage. It was extremely well hidden - and for that reason, it probably felt confident enough to stay put for quite awhile while I snapped not too far away from it's spot. In order to discern the frog amongst the twigs, leaves and earth, I isolated it and one leaf and left them in colour, then changed the rest to black and white.
This frog can be found from Northern California, through soutwestern BC, including Vancouver Island.
