Once we got to a clearing along the spit of land we were following, the water was endless. On one side, Gulls, Cormorants, Mallards, and Barrow's Goldeneyes held court. Logs were jammed against pilings, and tugs pulled their loads up the river. On the other side of the spit, the activity was less but it was no less inviting.

This tug was hauling lumber through the misty afternoon shroud.
