Painted Ladies are also called Thistle Butterflies, and Cosmopolitans - probably due to their widespread coverage. Where some species may only be found in select areas, Painted Ladies are the opposite. They can found everywhere except South America, and the Antarctic. They're common across Canada from coast to coast, into northern Quebec, and the Yukon Territory.
